Bedding!

Sooo I think mom found THE bedding for me, finally! I was beginning to give up because I thought we would never find all the colors I wanted. How do you match brown with reds with blues all in one bedding anyway?! Well, we did! Here is a picture of the fat quarters:
I think this will be PERFECT with a red dresser and will match my "Raffee" the giraffe perfectly! The only downside is that this fabric does not come out until August and will not ship until then. Mom says we can make the quilt pretty quickly so its still a big possibility. Sooo now its time to decide what color to paint the room. With this fabric I have LOTS to choose from. I think it'll be a lot of fun =) Thanks mom for being so diligent in finding me fabric!!!!

24 Weeks!

Soo I'm late again, sorry! Josh and I have had a BIG weekend..Yesterday we drove to Greensboro for a wedding at the Sheraton Four Seasons. The wedding was 7 hours which made for an exhausting day after a two and a half hour drive there and back. Then today, Sunday, we had a car wash with the youth group. We are trying to raise last minute funds for our mission trip to Tampa, Florida. We will be working with senior citizens who still reside in their own homes. We are working with an organization called "ElderLink" which helps the elderly stay in their homes by providing all sorts of services. We will be there helping out with the yard work. I can't imagine how tired I will be after a week of yard work because I am exhausted from just two long days.

Gabriel is getting longer but he isn't putting on much fat just yet! He is supposed to be a little over a pound now and about a foot long. Here is a picture of what he should look like about nowish:And here is me at 24 weeks:
And at the car wash today:
I am going to make this blog short and sweet because I'm so tired! I'll be in touch at 25 weeks and then probably take off a week until after the mission trip! I'm super excited to see what God has in store for our group =) Love Yall!

23 Weeks!

So this post is about 4 days late but I had some news to type for the 23 week mark, so I'll be brief =) Gabriel is super active now and I read that this will seem like his most active time. This is because he has so much room to move right now. The books say he will slow down again around week 28 as he gets bigger and his space gets tighter. I am also getting bigger! Yesterday at church a lady asked me if I was sure we were only having one. I almost died because I didn't think I was that big! I believe she was confused as to how far along I am because when I told her I only had July, August, and September to go she said, "ohhhh wow, so you have been hiding it for a long time." So maybe since I am just now popping out people at church are not aware of how far along I am?! I hope that is the case at least. My mom did not help things yesterday though. She took like 4 pictures of me because she said I looked so big and she wanted to get a picture of me actually looking pregnant. Maybe it was the dress I was wearing yesterday?! It was a great Father's Day otherwise though...Anyway, here is a picture of me at 23 weeks:
I measured my belly at 11 weeks and I was 28 inches around the belly button, and at 23 weeks I am 32 inches around the belly button. So my waist has gained about 4 inches in just a few weeks time! Gabriel should look about like this next picture. He is more than 11 inches long (which explains how he can stretch and hit me on either side of the belly at the same time) and just over a pound!I have gained about 17 lbs now, so it looks like I'll be in the range of 30-35 lbs total gain, which is what the doctor ordered but still makes me feel like a heffer! Josh keeps telling me not to worry about it, meanwhile he is working his butt off with PX 90 and slathering on the tanning cream to look sexy without a shirt on! He did ask me when we were going to take the preggo pics, so I had a thought that maybe he has seen those naked upper body shots with the newborn baby and wants to look hot for that?! If he's losing weight for that reason I'm fine with it because its sweet, otherwise I think its mean of him to let me get fat while he gets skinny! Thats kind of a joke, I'm not really upset with him, but I thought it was humorous to share =).

In other news, I bought two patterns for the nursery bedding. The one pattern I will use for the box pleat dust ruffle and the other pattern for the bumper pads and comforter. My mom wants to plan a trip to Charlotte for the fabric so I want to hit there, Ikea (for a red dresser), and Baby Depot. I am realizing more and more that my time is getting short to get the nursery and bedding done. I only have 3 months! Why does time go by so fast? Before I know it I'll be at my sons wedding...Crazy...

Well, I'll be writing again in a few short days for 24 weeks. I am debating another ultra sound. I would like to get a 3D/4D one and actually have Josh there. I know I need to make up my mind fast b/c now is the time to get pictures of an active baby. What do yall think?! Keep praying please for Kara Kincaid. She will be in surgery 6 hours and will be on bed rest for WEEKS after the surgery....Love Yall!

"I like em' Big, I like em' CHUNKY!" 22 weeks

Ok, ok I don't think I'm fat YET but that is my new theme song thanks to Mylena, my 11 year old sister! I believe my family is simply amazed that I went from no belly to having a bump within like 2 weeks. So now when I walk in the room, reach for a cookie, or say "I'm getting a milk shake" I hear my theme song =) haha! I think its funny for now. I believe if I had already gained 50 lbs I wouldn't think it was so nice, but since I'm still at 12-13 lbs I will spare them from my pregnancy wrath.

Gabriel and I are doing great. I love feeling him move and letting others experience his movements too as they touch my belly. I think its an amazing thing to share. I am definitely not the "don't touch my belly" gal. I feel as though people are amazed by the life inside me just as much as I am, so why not share it with them? Its almost a simple way of saying, "isn't God AMAZING!" He truly is. I can not even begin to understand the genius of such a God who could create a little being inside a women's womb. I thank God everyday for little David Gabriel and I will raise my son to also be amazed by Him, the creator and giver of life and all things beautiful!

Speaking of beautiful, there are so many beautiful things I want to buy! But I have been being good! Other than the giraffe I bought on Amazon.com I have refrained from buying more baby clothes and little things I could get at a shower. I realized that babies grow at an uncontrollable rate and, unless I want to stuff Gabriel into clothing, I better stop buying him cute baby out fits! Watching Annabelle and Rachel grow I realize my little man is going to grow like a weed. Why do they have to get big so fast?! The giraffe purchase has made me really excited about the nursery though! Here are a few pics of the crib and giraffe. Obviously I have done NOTHING yet with the nursery decoration:
I have grown a bit in the past two weeks. I feel Gabriel kicking me above my belly button now which is really weird. According to babycenter.com he now is about 11 inches (size of a spaghetti squash) and weighs one pound. He also has wrinkles until he gets to the "putting on the fat" stage. I just am so thrilled about that stage..not..haha! I have loved pregnancy thus far though!!! Josh has been SOOO wonderful and sweet =) He won't let me touch things that could be potentially harmful like roach spray, and he doesn't want me out in the yard raking after he's sprayed weed killer. He also touches my belly ALL THE TIME! The first time he felt Gabriel kick I cried because it was such a special moment, now we laugh and joke about how active he is. He especially likes to wiggle during church and I like to think its because God is already working in his little life! It could also be the vibrations of the drums... Anyway, here are a few pics of me at 22 weeks big:
Mom and I are off to the quilt store today to look through fabrics. Hopefully I can find some that I really like =) I will post fabric pics if I buy something today but I will most likely be looking at other places too. Mom told me about this really great place online: www.amybutlerdesigns.com and they have some REALLY nice fabrics! Well, until next week then...love yall!

21 Weeks!

Time is going by SO fast! I went to the doctor yesterday, Friday, and she said I am doing great. We are right on target for our October 15 due date! I am actually measuring a week small but Gabriel is measuring a week big, so I'm still gonna keep with my October 20th date! We listened to Gabriel's heart and he must not have liked it, because he squirmed all around my belly to get away from the doppler fetal heart monitor. He kicked it once while moving which was pretty fun too! Josh and I are amazed these days because at night we can watch my belly kick up and down and roll around. It is incredible and weird all at the same time. I can imagine why women miss these movements after about 5-6 months of feeling them day in and day out. Here I am at 21 weeks:

I have gained 12 pounds and my tummy feels a little tight after I eat! I feel our baby boy kicking around my belly button now and I don't have to run to the bathroom so much anymore which is great. I hear that I will get that "running to the bathroom" back for the third trimester. Oh, here is what baby is supposed to look like in my womb this week:
Josh, the youth, and I are anxiously awaiting our Tampa, Florida mission trip July 5-10th! I believe we have finally determined who is going to go and who is not, the car situation, the money situation, and all the big stuff. Now it is down to the details. I got a bathing suit from "Pea in the Pod" for the trip! My tummy doesn't fully fill it out yet, but maybe it will in another month? I am beginning to pray for a safe trip. After the mysterious Air France disappearance I realize that vacations don't always go as planned. We will be driving the "Barnett" van, so please pray for our safety in the weeks to come!

I have been busy with brides and weddings but they are all very excited about my baby! Every e-mail I get now begins with, "how are you and baby?!" It amazes me how excited people get about pregnant women and their babies. It is an AWESOME experience, but you would not expect so many people to be excited in a society that does not seem to like children..Especially a society so accepting of abortion. I won't get into that in this blog, I know I went crazy last week, but it just astonishes me how on one hand pregnancy and life are so amazing and then on the other people so eagerly throw it away. I can't imagine ever EVER throwing it away. I love my little boy SOO much already! So much that I think about him and his safety constantly throughout each day. God is so amazing that he gives us life! I pray my son honors him in all that he does! All he has to do is live up to his name, "beloved man of God," and I will be fulfilled =)!

Love You All,
Sarah B.

P.s. Please be in prayer for Cara Kinkaid. She is Katerina and Mylena's age and they found an aneurysm in her brain. She will undergo surgery soon, so please pray for God's healing in her life and a sense of peace for her family.

20 1/2 Weeks!!!

I meant to post on Thursday, at 20 weeks, but I didn't feel so good. I also didn't get a great 20 Week Picture, so that made me not want to post. I am very excited to be 20 weeks though!!! I feel great, my tummy is poking out enough to where people can see I'm pregnant, and I feel him moving A LOT!!! It is SOOO amazing to me to feel him move and kick. Josh also loves feeling him! I find him moving his hand over to my belly often to feel his little man move =). I feel so fulfilled in life right now, I am so happy. I thank God everyday for the little guy moving around inside of me, and I can't imagine any woman ever feeling these movements and having thoughts of "terminating" or should I say murdering the baby inside. With the shooting of Dr. Tiller yesterday my thoughts have been consumed with the downfall of our nation. What sort of man can look at a full term baby in the womb and take his/her life so gruesomely? What sort of woman could do that to her child? And what sort of society can stand by a murderer and defend his actions?!

I have seen so called "Christians" come out left and right to defend Tiller and berate then man who shot him. I agree we should deal with things under the law, but why isn't the law punishing a murderer? What is more important, God's law that says a murderer should be put to death, or man's law who apparently sees no problem with murdering innocent children. Before Jesus, God would have struck this man dead, and in Jesus' time he would have been tried and killed for his actions, but today he is welcome at a church and accepted as a "brother in Christ" by so called "Christians." It makes me SICK! Our world is corrupt and our churches are corrupt! Christians are accepting too much and by accepting it they themselves will be punished. We are already being punished! By not standing up against sexual immorality we are paying as teen girls murder their babies, by not standing up against divorce we are paying in the moral decay of our families, and by not standing up to a brother when they are opening living in sin we are losing our brothers and sisters to their sinful nature. By not standing up to sin we are sending people to hell! Why can't the church openly criticize sin any more? Why is it O.k. to get an abortion, to get a divorce, to live in sexual sin, to lie, to cheat, and to offend? Since when did Christ become a pansie who will accept our sin?! I now totally understand the Bible verse that says in the end times there will be wailing and nashing of teeth. People think God will be o.k. with all of this corruption but he won't! Our God is full of Grace but He also Holy and Just. He has warned us:

Revelation 21:8 " 8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Revelation 22:15 "15Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood."

WAKE UP CHRISTIANS! Sexually immoral people aren't going to Heaven in yet we are afraid to tell those who live together outside of marriage that they are sinning! Your sending them to HELL! Those who are divorcing are living in adultery (i.e. sexual immorality)! I pray God forgives them because there are so many now days, but if the church hadn't accepted it in the first place we wouldn't have to worry! Why aren't divorcees outcasts anymore? The gays are next. They are infiltrating our churches and being accepted as Christians. In another 10 years nobody will say they will go to hell for their actions, it won't be politically correct. Now baby killers even get to hold positions in the church?! Murderers!!!!!!!!! No wonder the Lord says those who love the world hate Christ. How could you love this world we live in? I HATE the world we live in!

Think about these verses before you decide to be politically correct about the Bible and Christ:

Matthew 7:21 " 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

1 John 2:4 "4The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him."

Stop accepting open sin. Gays and other sexually immoral people, doctors who conduct abortions, and others openly living in sin should not have a place in the church. I believe Tiller is in hell right now for the innocent lives he took. To hell with women's rights! They are costing us our nation!
