Soo today we added a new word to the list. Gabriel is saying "HI" today =). He has been saying "uh oh" non stop for the past week or so. Its always super cute and I hope he still says it, but today he seems to be starting "hi."
Tomorrow I'm going to the consignment sale to get DG's winter clothes. I had not bought anything past 12 months, so I need a bit of stuff. I am not really positive on where I will store his "too small" wardrobe? I did buy one rubbermaid tub and that worked o.k.. Josh doesn't necessarily like the tubs cluttering up the garage, but we are running out of space! It's funny how the house seemed so large when we first moved in. It had plenty of space for the two of us! Now we don't even know where we would put a second child?! Re organizing will definitely be in order soon (not announcing anything, just saying we are already running out of room).
Until next time...

"Uh Oh"
This may seem small BUT I wanted to document it =) Gabriel is now saying "uh oh" when he falls on his butt or drops something! It is SO cute. I tried tonight to get it on video. Not much luck. Maybe tomorrow?! When I get it I'll post it! Here is a pic of him and I recently. My sweet boy is growing TOO fast!

Well, I did get this video. It's not a good representation of his "uh oh," but it will have to work until I get a better one. He was saying the "oh" when I started this video. So that is pretty clear. Then he sort of mumbles it. Anyway, it will have to do for now:

Another First!
Gabriel is now pointing at the dogs and saying "Do!" He will sometimes finish with a "DOD," but hasn't exactly gotten the "G" yet. It is so cute to hear him try to say it though! It doesn't sound like the word "do" it just sounds like dog without the "g." Don't know how else to explain it. The word doe, like the deer, may be the best way to describe it! Video seems to never work. He always freezes when the vid comes out. I'll keep trying though!
Our lil' man isn't walking just yet but he is REALLY close. He stands for long periods of time but never moves those feet. He will walk with the walker but not by himself. He still LOVES to eat. He is putting the "ba ba" down more and wanting real food. He does really good with it. We have not tried the fork and spoons yet, but I did buy some today at Target.
In other news...Today was a sad day as Rebecca, Mike, and the kids left for Virginia. Ashley starts school in September, so we won't be seeing them much. Mom would like to go next week to visit but I'm not sure if I'll be able to go. We have had weddings every weekend for the past 5 months. It's been a busy year! Gabriel will miss his cousins. He very much enjoys little kids! Josh and I will definitely need to have a few more around ;). I am excited about trying again in a couple months.

My jumper!
My little one has never really liked chairs, jumpers, etc. because he didn't like to be put down or be confined. Last night I tried the jumper again and he actually enjoyed it for about 5 minutes ;). I thought his little jumping legs were super cute, so I took a video:
*Not really sure how to flip the video..any help would be appreciated!*
He is going to be 10 months in just 2 more days. Crazy! I believe for his first birthday we will have just family around. I would just like to get pictures of him with his first cake. Definitely a party next year though. He'll be way more aware of what is going on then!

9 months 3 weeks!
Gabriel had a big day today and I wanted to blog about it! He has been standing on his own but just recently *two days ago* we started clapping and cheering when he did it. He just ate that up because he LOVES attention! Well today he started clapping too! I have two videos, here is one:
On top of that he also started using the sign language we are teaching him. He is now signing, "more" and "eat!" One of my friends told me it would be super cool to actually see the "fruits" of our teaching. I didn't know how cool until I saw him signing today! It is so amazing to watch him grow. I love him so much. My heart is so full =).

9.5 Months!
Gabriel is 9.5 months if you can believe that?! At his 9 month appointment he was in the 25% percentile for height and weight. So, he isn't the biggest kid in the family, BUT he is fairly average as far as babies go. He is a quick lil' guy though..Strong too! Today he stood for a few seconds on his own. He had been letting go of the tables and standing for about 2 seconds, but today it was about 5-6 seconds. It seems like he feels even more comfortable to stand in the bath tub. Not really sure why?! I think he'll be walking at 10 months, but that is just my guess. He is also LOVING food. He will eat anything we put in front of him, and he loves mac and cheese!
The doctor was again freaking about Gabriel not getting his shots, but I still haven't given him any. My next step is actually to call the health dept. to find out if they can get the brand I am looking for. My doctor let me know its not cost effective for them to order a different brand (than what they use) just for him. So, I called a vaccine friendly doc in Cary, NC and she told me to try the health department. If that does not work I'll probably drive to Cary for his shots. Yes, its that important to me!
In other news, my birthday is right around the corner. Wednesday to be exact! Josh is taking Wednesday- Friday off, and we actually do not have a wedding on Saturday, so I am really looking forward to that! We have not decided exactly what we are doing, but I'm sure we'll figure something out. It's hard to believe that last year on my birthday I was pregnant with David Gabriel! This year I can actually have a margarita if I want ;)! Next year probably not!!! We hope to try at the end of this year/ beginning of next (I think I've already said that in this blog BUT just to reaffirm!).
Josh and I have been talking a lot about how to raise Gabriel, and how we wish to train him in the Word. We plan on having a study time after dinner a few times a week, if not every day. No devotionals. I want Gabriel to know the Word, not the thoughts of others. Too many people neglect to read the Bible chapter by chapter. Instead they only get tid bits, usually written in devotionals, followed by many stories. There are not many things I hate more than people taking the Bible out of context to fit their own belief structure!
That is all I got for the 9.5 month blog. Now you know more about Gabriel, my birthday, and some of my thoughts on raising children in the Word... I pray that God gives us guidance. We need Him more and more each and every day!
