Appointment went well!
Just an update, my appointment went well this morning! I have gained 19 lbs so far so I am now on track for about 32 lbs in total weight gain if I gain a pound a week. I'm actually making myself eat a little more because I've noticed my appetite has dropped significantly in the third trimester from the first and second trimester. I am not sure why but everything is normal so I guess I'm good =). I do NOT have gestational diabetes, my iron is good, and my blood pressure is actually low. The only hiccup is that I am measuring 27 weeks at 29 weeks. She said its probably because I am carrying so low. This little guy likes to be below my belly button and that is pretty low! The midwife says this will cause me a bit more pelvic pain (I'm starting to feel that now that he is heavier I guess), but spare me the kicks in the ribs! I notice when he moves up because my belly button moves out a bit. Right now I'm lucky because the button is pretty much the same. I guess that is another plus that he is so low. That and when its time for birth he won't have far to travel ;) haha! I got my hospital pre registration papers today too which made everything feel real! I'm really going to be pushing this baby out in like two months..wow! I'm also going to go in every two weeks from now until I believe 36 wks., and then it will be once a week. Fun stuff! Anyway, just wanted you to know I'm healthy =)! Cheers!!!

29 Weeks, only 11 more to go!
I'm 29 weeks already! My belly is starting to really poke out now and I'm starting to get anxious to hold the little guy =). I got my Combi stroller/car seat travel system last week and I am very happy with it as of right now. It is super compact and turns really well. I also got my recliner chair and LOVE it. Last night I fell asleep in it! I am trying to break it in a bit because the store models seemed a bit more cushiony (not a word, I know). Anyway, just thinking of holding him in it is exciting although I know it won't be easy for the first few weeks.
Tomorrow I go for my glucose screening test, so pray that I don't have gestational diabetes. That is one thing I don't want to deal with! I am lucky though because at my doctor's office they give me a chocolate bar instead of the dreaded orange drink. I have not actually tasted the stuff but I hear from many women that it is horrible. I'm not looking forward to getting my blood drawn again either. I've had more blood drawn in the past 7 months than my entire life. I'm getting used to it though. I don't have anxiety anymore before going to the doctor's office! Haha! I told myself that I need to be a big girl because I am about to have to push out a baby and that is way worse than a needle in the arm that doesn't even hurt =). I've made up my mind that an epidural is the way to go if I'm in serious serious pain. I don't see the point in suffering through birth when I can enjoy it a bit more. If there was a major risk to the baby obviously I would have a different opinion but there isn't much of a risk at all for anything. My plan is just to stay at home as long as possible. This way hopefully I don't have to sit in a hospital bed all day long and when I get the epidural I'm so ready that it won't slow down the labor.
Gabriel's bones are getting stronger, his lungs and brain are developing quickly, and he weighs about 2.5 lbs. I'm supposed to be counting kicks at this point. I want to ask the doctor about that tomorrow to get a better idea of how often he is supposed to move. Today he wasn't moving a whole whole lot so I started to worry a bit. He seems to be pretty active when I sit down though. Well, here I am at 29 Weeks:
Mom and I choose the colors for Gabriel's room, finally! I have a lot of work ahead of me because we have decided to paint stripes under the chair molding. I bought a piece of chair molding to get an idea of what it will look like and I'm really happy with it. I found a picture with the stripes I like and ironically the colors are very much like the ones we choose. Here is that picture:
I have not decided on the polka dots yet? Josh says I should do the polka dots too because they are easier, but I am still undecided. The plan is to put the chair molding up (its white), paint the top portion light blue, and paint the bottom portion stripes like the art project above. The hardest part will obviously be creating the lines in even proportions and taping everything off. I'm really not looking forward to it but I think it will look really nice. He can keep it for a few years too because its not a babyish paint job. I hope to paint this weekend =).
I also got busy on my shower invitations! I created one myself because I knew I could and I didn't want to pay someone else to do it. This is what I came up with in photoshop:
The information on it is not correct yet, so don't plan on the time and location at this point. I'll probably send these out late August so I'll obviously have a time and location set in stone by then. My sister wants to have the shower at her house although it will be thrown by my mother in law and some friends at the church. I will print it on blue card stock paper. I am happy with the way it turned out =). I was super happy that I found the elephant and giraffe clip art free on the Internet. The Internet is such a wonderful source for everything!!!
Well, I think that is all for now. Oh, wait, one more thing! Josh and I hung a picture I bought at Kirklands today in the kitchen. I'm really in love with it. I thought it would be like $150.00 because it is large but it was really on sale for $59.00! Here is a picture of that:
Josh was being a sweety today and helped me hang it! He has been so sweet throughout my pregnancy. He is very caring about what I do and don't do, doesn't want me exerting too much effort, makes sure I eat right, and loves on me. He is going to be a great daddy! I can't wait to see him holding his son for the first time. I think that will break my heart =0). I'm getting choked up just thinking about it! Anyway, good night everyone..Love you!

27 weeks!
Not a whole lot has gone on this week, just work! I have been swamped since coming back from the mission trip. My legs are back to normal now, no more swelling, so that feels great! Today was a wedding in Fayetteville, so I was super happy to get home early and spend time with friends before coming home this evening. I also went to a baby shower! Its so weird to me that everyone I went to high school with are growing up and having babies of their own. I don't feel older but life keeps on moving and I have to keep up. Grown up things are necessary now...weird! I also can't believe how fast time is flying by with my pregnancy. I'll be in my third trimester next week!!! For now I'm still technically in the second, so I'll focus there for now. Here is my 27 week picture:
I am starting to have to change my routine a bit these days with a belly in the way. I am finding that I have to roll out of bed instead of sitting straight up (tummy muscles aren't the greatest right now), cutting the toe nails is becoming a challenge, and getting up from sitting on the floor means pushing up with my arms! I am still feeling great, just having to adjust a bit!
Today was an interesting day. I was laying on the couch at a friend's house watching Madagascar 2 when Gabriel socked me in the ribs! It really scared me and I jumped a bit off the couch. It didn't "hurt" but it felt sharp and I would like it not to happen too incredibly often..I'm sure I'm not the only mom who doesn't like being knocked in the ribs, I've heard women complain about it plenty. Its just one of those things you don't know and can't explain until you've experienced it..I'm glad I get to experience it though, being pregnant is such a blessing!
I think its about time for bed..I should try not to begin writing so late! Maybe next time I'll start earlier...For now good night and love you =)

26 Weeks...and 5 days!
I just got back from my mission trip SO once again I am late on the weekly update...sorry! I'll have to write about the mission trip in a separate post because its already 11:30 p.m. and I am TIRED. Since being home I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Washing clothes, doing dishes, putting things away, taking care of animals, and OH I bought baby bedding yesterday!!!! Mom is still going to make me a quilt from the "Retro Animal Party" fabric that I posted previously, but I saw this one and it was perfect so I thought I would spare us the trouble of making the bumper and bed skirt. Here is a picture of the bedding in the crib:
And here is the inside:

I believe I'll go with another bed sheet too but I'm sure I'll have lots of those since I hear babies pee, poop, and barf all over them (who would have thought those cute little monsters do such nasty things!). I guess the "dreams" of first time motherhood are shattered the first time the little one pukes all over the bedding you spent months picking out! haha! Can you tell I'm in a pessimistic mood tonight?! Maybe just tired?
Anyway, I believe this bedding will look great with the wall hangings I have chosen. So next thing on my "to do" list is paint! That and figure out what to do with the rabbit/rabbit cage! Here are a few of the wall hangings I like:

O.k.. Aside from the room, and stressing a bit that I still have lots to buy, I am doing great! I have gained approximately 19-20 lbs so it looks like I'll be between 35-40 lbs heavier than pre pregnancy by the time I deliver. My butt and thighs are taking up most of the fat and my upper body seems to be staying normal. So this is why you get upper body pics to view =)~! My tummy is measuring 34 inches at 26 weeks and 5 days.
Gabriel is moving around like CRAZY! I think its hilarious to watch him move under my belly button because it pops up. I am also starting to feel little body parts which is super cool. I can watch an elbow or a foot slide across my tummy! Josh thinks its pretty cool too, he loves to feel my tummy. I missed him laying his hand on my tummy while at the mission trip last week. I'll talk about that more in my next post. For now its time for bed! Night and Love Ya!
