32 Weeks!

I had my 32 week appointment today and everything is looking good! The midwife, Shelly, says baby Elizabeth is going to "fall out," because she is so low. This is exactly what I was saying the other day when I went on a walk with Josh. I was telling him I hoped she stayed in for another 8 weeks. I really don't want a premature baby. Healthy lungs are a plus! I also found out she IS posterior (i.e. Sunny side up) like Gabriel was. If she is the same size Gabriel was she won't fit through my birth canal, unless I try hands and knees (i.e. can't get epidural!). Shelly says not to lose hope because babies can turn at any time in birth, to include pushing. It just means I need to pay a lot of attention to the spinningbabies.com site and try very hard NOT to get an epidural.Walking, squats, and hands and knees pelvic tilts will be important. Shelly is super supportive though and says I'll do great. I'm happy to have her and pray she is at the birth! I might have to hold Kate in if she isn't on call!

BabyCenter says Kate should weigh in at approximately 4lbs, and be about 16.7 inches long. I didn't gain any weight since my last appointment (2 weeks ago), but Kate is supposed to be putting on about a pound a week now. So, I'm doing good here at the end. As long as I can stay away from Krispy Kreme ;). I've gained 19/20 lbs, so nobody is freaking out about me not gaining.

Here are a few pics of me at 32 weeks:

I made some strides in Elizabeth's bedroom! I got the balloon curtain put up, painted the dresser, and am waiting for the dresser motifs to get here -tomorrow-. I found the curtain at Target, the rod at "The Christmas Tree Shop," and a picture frame at Marshalls that is super cute! The picture frame was green, like her dresser, so I decided to paint it white with a tint of the green peeking through. I then antiqued it with this cool rub and buff stuff I found at Michaels. I had a pretty productive day! I can't wait to pull everything together and take some pics. Here are a few not so great ones of the curtains:

I took pics of the dresser, but the flash on my camera does not do the dresser justice. The pics look horrible. So, I will take some with our professional camera once it is all put together. After tomorrow the only thing left will be drawer pulls. I found some at Hobby Lobby at 50% off, but could not commit until scoring the internet to make sure there was nothing better. I did find better, but I'm not sure if the price difference is worth it yet?! So, I will probably go back to Hobby Lobby next week to check and see if they are 50% off again. I noticed their sales are typically every other week. Oh, and Josh says he will hang her chandelier this weekend. SOO I think that will be about it other than possibly a carpet, lamp, and light switch covers. How exciting!

Until 33 weeks.... Goodnight =)

31 Weeks!

I am at 31 weeks and feeling little miss all the time. She kicks Gabriel often but he never notices. He does still kiss my belly though and that is super cute =). According to baby center Elizabeth is heading for a growth spurt. So she will probably run out of room soon and stop moving as much. I'm just trying to soak it all in!

I had a sweet tooth today. I really want Banana pudding! I have to make dessert for an event on Saturday, so I will probably make it then. Yum!

I don't have much else as far as the pregnancy goes, but we have had a lot of fun with daddy this week! Pics to come. I left my camera at the in laws :/ oops!

Furniture!

Yesterday I deglossed/stripped the finish off Elizabeth's dresser. Today I was researching the painting technique to use. I know I want motifs, but I didn't know how to get the dimensional paint look. I don't want a flat color green. So, I was happy when I found this blog, "My Romantic Home" with a blue/grey dresser. I am thinking the same application, but with a green paint, will give me the look I want:

My Romantic Home Blog

My only worry is I didn't get the gloss off correctly. I guess I won't know until I begin to paint! I am pretty excited to see what the outcome will be =)

Weeks 29 and 30!

Ok, I have slacked a bit so weeks 29 and 30 will be together. Today I am 30 weeks and it is a little hard for me to believe. I feel like just yesterday I found out, started feeling her flutter, and now try to video her as she tries to "escape" from the womb ;). She goes CRAZY sometimes, I reach for the camera, ANNNND she stops completely. Just like Gabriel already. No cameras please! I can't wait to see her and hold her. I look at pictures when Gabriel was so small and I crave those feelings of holding a newborn. I don't even mind the hospital stay. I am looking forward to just daddy, baby, and me bonding time. Once home everything moves SO fast and BOOM you got a two year old ;).

A two year old that does not understand -just yet- why there is a crib in the "office room" across the hall! First it was the purple paint (he walked by and said "OHHH WEEE!" upon seeing the paint for the first time), and now it is a crib. He was pretty confused the other morning seeing another crib that wasn't his. It is weird for me too! After I tuck him into bed at night it is a little strange to walk out of his room and see a girl room. A room that will soon have a little baby girl in it. Ten weeks should zoom by since the last 30 have. Standing in the hallway, with two baby rooms on either side, I feel overwhelmed with emotion. I am so very thankful to God for giving me my two blessings. He certainly didn't have to bless me with children at all, and now I'm going to have two. A perfect boy, and I'm sure a beautiful and perfect girl. It's just amazing.

I have an OB appointment today, so I will know my "stats" soon enough (ahem..weight gain...eek). I can't believe I'm going every two weeks already. It isn't going to be as fun without Josh here during the week. My whole waking up early routine is being changed, and I'm really not thrilled about it. I'm going to have to figure something else out because I love seeing my midwife in the morning times. My past OB appointments have been around 8 a.m. while Gabriel still sleeps. Dad stays home with him, gives him breakfast, and then I'm home before dad leaves for work. Well, now that he isn't here I'm working with afternoon appointments. Changes everything. We will see today if it works.

Here are a few pics of 30 weeks and the beautiful baby girl crib:

Until 31 weeks....

....Oh, I will add that I did go to the doc. and Im at 18lbs weight gain. SO if I gain a lb a week I'll reach 28 lbs, but last time I stopped gaining at around 35 weeks. So we shall see. For now I'm done with Krispy Kreme...

Fun Things!

I wanted to make note of a few "fun things" Gabriel has been doing (and saying) lately. This way I will always have something to look back on.

*Head butting! This one has a little story to it. Mom has a miniature goat, Avalanche, that they have been taking care of at the farm. He is a little guy, about the size of a small dog, with small horns. Well, Mr. Avalanche has a little attitude and likes to head butt people (everyone buy my mom who feeds him daily). The other day at the farm Gabriel hauled off and kicked Avalanche! The goat turned around and head butted him!!! SO, Gabriel's new "laugh factor" is to come over and head butt us =).

* Signing "please!" Gabriel has been signing for some time now, but not "please" until two days ago. I had been teaching him the basics (eat, drink, more, potty) so he could tell me what he wanted, and then about a month ago I started "please" and "thank you." I then slacked off and didn't sign when I said these things. So, much to my surprise, two days ago he signed "please" by rubbing his tummy =). Your supposed to rub your chest, but I thought this was darn cute! Amazing what they see and pick up even when those things are not done religiously everyday.

*Kissing my tummy!!! I SO wish I could catch this on camera, but I never know when he will do it. Every once and a while he will pull up my shirt and want to see the "baby!" Sometimes he will hit my tummy, sometimes he will try to jump on it, sometimes he will just say "baby," and then other times he will kiss it! This is obviously my favorite =). He gets in trouble for the other things ;).

*Saying "Bye Bye!" He has been saying "bye, bye" for a long time, but not to his "pee-pee!" hahaha! When I changed his diaper this morning he pointed to his "pee-pee" and told me what it was. I then put the diaper back on and he said, "bye, bye pee-pee!" hehe. I wish I had a video camera in my head! I guess I figured if I typed it, with the idea to read it later, it will jog my memory and I'll always remember him saying it.

*Riding his Radio Flyer Bike all over the house. This is SO cute!

*Saying "Sha, Sha" because he has a crush on his cousin, Rachel!

*Holding his hand up to his head and talking on the "phone."

*Making farm animal noises. My favorite is "moooo" for the cows.

*Wanting to read books every morning and night.

*Counting to three.

*Riding the play horses (toys), and the real ones.

*Saying "what's that?!" Sometimes this is a distraction tactic. We can be about to discipline him and he will point, "what's that?!"

*Giving out kisses.

He is so precious to Josh and I and we are so thankful to God for him!!!

My David Gabriel!

Today as we watched papa, Josh, and James bring the new air conditioner to the side of the house I marveled at how beautiful my baby boy was. I ran in to get the camera, and to take some shots of our handsome son outside where he loves to be. I have not edited these photos because I'm afraid they will never get posted if I wait to edit them. I just wanted something better than a snappy camera, but there really is no sense in editing every picture that comes out of our professional cams. They still look good. Especially when the subject has beautiful baby skin =). Here are a few shots from our day playing with grandma!
